Certification

The Dance Adjudication Network (DAN) offers certified training for judges via eLearning, webinars, and in-person events. Our goal is to address the lack of standardised certification within the Breaking world, which currently affects credibility and consistency. Our certification process is rooted in the judging system that was used to secure Breaking a position in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

What We Offer

  • Certified Training: We provide structured training for aspiring and active judges who are seeking validation and recognition.
  • Global Recognition: We maintain records of trained and certified judges from across the world.
  • Skill Development: We offer shadow judging opportunities to help develop skills in virtual and real-world environments.
  • Cultural Authenticity: Our training ensures a balance between technical education and the traditional cultural values of Breaking.
  • Accessibility: Our programs are offered in multiple formats and languages to ensure broad access. We also provide free or subsidized resources to reduce financial barriers.

What We Offer

Our certification process strengthens competitive integrity across the global Breaking scene. By normalising the use of certified judges at events, we help ensure fairness and transparency in judging decisions. This fosters a more informed and empowered community of dancers, promoters, and audiences. Ultimately, our certification helps support the development of league structures and infrastructure that can attract sustained sponsorship and investment in Breaking as both a sport and an artform.
